Creating more good
days for you
What we will do for you?
We will create a safe space for your concerns and questions to be listened to and addressed. We aim to help you understand your own body, and leave you feeling like you know how to support your own body better. We’ve dedicated our lives to learning about the human body, and get how complicated it can be for you to understand what’s happening in your body. We’ll do our best to simplify it for you. We believe the human body is very individual and should be treated as such. We would love to help you.
What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a gentle, manual therapy that is aimed at restoring health to the human body. We use our hands to assess and address the structure (anatomy) and function (physiology) of your entire body. Treatment is customized to each and every individual. Just like how there are car mechanics, we consider ourselves body mechanics. We want to make sure that the relationship between all parts and systems of your body are working together.
Although pain and discomfort may be felt in one area, this does not mean it is always the area in dysfunction. Consider a garden hose with less water flow. Water flow may be the problem, however, the cause may be a kinked or bent hose, a physical block in the hose, the tap not on, no water supply, etc. The entire system is important. Often times pain and discomfort may be due to an imbalance in the body which can include motion restriction, neural tone, fluid, pressure, heat and so on. By creating better balance, your body is then able to function (healing, protecting, regulating) better and overcome pain and discomfort.
Osteopathy considers the entire body and all of its parts and tissues. This includes muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, bones, organs, fascia, arteries, veins, lymphatics, nerves, and their relationship. The body in a way is like an onion and has many layers from the surface layers to the deeper layers.
This is how we work to support you in reducing your pain and discomfort and create more good days than bad.
Who Can Benefit?
Please note - Osteopathy does NOT diagnose or treat medical diseases.
Osteopathy does treat the human body mechanically, which can support you with your medical conditions.
