Creating more good
days for you

What we will do for you?

We will create a safe space for your concerns and questions to be listened to and addressed. We aim to help you understand your own body, and leave you feeling like you know how to support your own body better. We’ve dedicated our lives to learning about the human body, and get how complicated it can be for you to understand what’s happening in your body. We’ll do our best to simplify it for you. We believe the human body is very individual and should be treated as such. We would love to help you.

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a gentle, manual therapy that is aimed at restoring health to the human body. We use our hands to assess and address the structure (anatomy) and function (physiology) of your entire body. Treatment is customized to each and every individual. Just like how there are car mechanics, we consider ourselves body mechanics. We want to make sure that the relationship between all parts and systems of your body are working together.

Although pain and discomfort may be felt in one area, this does not mean it is always the area in dysfunction. Consider a garden hose with less water flow. Water flow may be the problem, however, the cause may be a kinked or bent hose, a physical block in the hose, the tap not on, no water supply, etc. The entire system is important. Often times pain and discomfort may be due to an imbalance in the body which can include motion restriction, neural tone, fluid, pressure, heat and so on. By creating better balance, your body is then able to function (healing, protecting, regulating) better and overcome pain and discomfort.

Osteopathy considers the entire body and all of its parts and tissues. This includes muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, bones, organs, fascia, arteries, veins, lymphatics, nerves, and their relationship. The body in a way is like an onion and has many layers from the surface layers to the deeper layers.

This is how we work to support you in reducing your pain and discomfort and create more good days than bad.

  Who Can Benefit?

Please note - Osteopathy does NOT diagnose or treat medical diseases.
Osteopathy does treat the human body mechanically, which can support you with your medical conditions.

Newborns & Infants

New to the world, newborns and infants are learning to function and sometimes can use a helping hand with issues that are present at or after birth. Unlike a fully developed adult body, these are softer and more pliable requiring a more gentle approach. One of the main goals with newborns and infants is to set the stage for the proper development of their bodies to promote future health and reduce future dysfunction.

Osteopathy can help with torticollis, difficulty sleeping, constipation, diarrhea, digestion issues and more

Children

Children have some more experience than newborns but are still developing. Daily, there are injuries, sickness and, unforeseen events. Osteopathy can help with this. With lots of growth on the way, their bodies are becoming stronger and developed in their position and pattern. A healthier spine now means better health in adulthood. Oftentimes, aches and pain that begin in adulthood have been brewing years prior.

Osteopathy can help with body aches and pains, nausea, constipation, diarrhea, digestion issues and more

Teens & Adults

With more experience, teens and adults carry years of compensation and wear and tear like mileage in a car. Now is a great time to take better care of your body. More demanding lives open the door to injury, sickness, fatigue, repetitive motions, and postural strain. Although your body is resilient in its ability to compensate and adapt, its vitality diminishes over time and these patterns start to become fixed. Osteopathy can maintain your structure and function.

Osteopathy can help with headaches, migraines, body aches and pains, sciatica, disc bulges, herniations, vertigo, sleep issues, breathing and more

Seniors

As the boy continues to age, it starts to slow down. Motion becomes more restricted, joints ache, bowel movements are impacted and other aliments become more apparent. Just like a car engine, mileage on the joints often leads to less health such as arthritis

Pregnancy & Postpartum

The human body is capable of wonderful things, and pregnancy is one of them! During pregnancy, the goal of treatment is to support both you and baby in being healthy and comfortable. Treatment accommodates your evolving and growing body throughout, no matter where you are on the journey. These changes are continual after delivery as well (breast feeding, holding baby, etc.) After delivery, the goal of treatment is to support your body in healing from labour, as well as the changes mentioned above.

Athletes & Sports Related Injuries

Sprains, strains, fractures, dislocations and other body injuries are physical traumas common to athletes of all shapes and sizes. It is important to understand how the body has been impacted, how it will heal and function afterwards.
